How to use dark mode in the dashboard

The dashboard comes with two looks: light and dark. Dark mode uses a deep background with light text. Many people prefer it at night, in dim rooms or on phones with OLED screens, because it is easier on the eyes and may save a little battery.

Switching is quick. Look for the theme option in the dashboard, usually near the language or account settings, and choose light or dark. The name and position can vary, so look for a sun or moon symbol or the word Theme. Your choice is meant to make reading the charts more comfortable, nothing more: your numbers stay exactly the same.

The heatmap and the hour bars use stronger colors for more clicks. In both themes, the darker or stronger color always means more clicks.

Which theme is better for reading the charts?

There is no right answer. In a bright office or under the sun, the light theme tends to be easier to read. At night, or if you check numbers in bed before sleeping, dark mode is kinder. Try both for a few days and keep the one that makes you check the dashboard more often, because the best theme is the one you actually use.

  • Daytime on a computer: light theme often works well.
  • Evening on a phone: dark theme is usually more comfortable.
  • Printing a report: the printable report is made for paper, so the screen theme does not matter.

One login on several devices

You can use the same login on your phone, tablet and computer at the same time. There is nothing to install or link between them. Open the dashboard on the new device, enter your e-mail and password, and you see the same links and the same numbers.

This is handy for small businesses. You can check clicks on the computer at work, glance at Today on your phone while traveling and show a chart to a partner on a tablet. Changes you make in Links, such as editing a message or pausing a link, apply to the account, so you see them on every device.

Use a password you do not use elsewhere, and do not share your login casually. Anyone with it can edit or pause your links.

Install the dashboard as an app

On both phone and computer, the dashboard can be installed as an app, which gives you an icon on the home screen or desktop and opens it without the browser bars. The exact steps depend on your browser and system, but look for an option like Add to home screen or Install in the browser menu.

Installing it works well together with dark mode: you can open the app, read the Today and Yesterday cards in a few seconds and close it.

Teams and agencies: login per client

If you work with clients, remember that you can have a separate login for each client. This keeps their numbers apart from the rest and lets each person use the theme and device they like.

A practical routine for an agency: create a link per client in Links, give the client their login, and agree on a day each month to send the printable report. The client can look at the dashboard in between, on any device, in dark or light mode.

  1. Create the link for the client's WhatsApp number.
  2. Set up the client's access.
  3. Show them the Summary and the Today and Yesterday cards.
  4. Send the monthly report and agree on what to watch.

Language, theme and other small comforts

Besides the theme, the dashboard is available in English, Portuguese and Spanish, so each person on the team can read it in their own language. These small details do not change your data, but they make the dashboard more pleasant, and a pleasant dashboard gets opened more often.

A small tip for people who share a computer: always sign out when you finish on a device that is not yours, such as a friend's tablet or a shared office computer. Signing in on several devices is convenient, but it is also a reason to be careful. If you suspect that someone else knows your password, change it as soon as possible. For a team, agree on who is allowed to edit or pause links, since a single mistaken change in Links affects every button that uses that link. A short written rule, even one line in a shared note, avoids many surprises.
